
ENGINE AND BOAT MAINTENANCE COURSES
Designed for boat owners and potential boat owners who would like to learn about basic boat & engine maintenance and covers basic electrical systems on their vessels. This 2 day course is ideal for all backgrounds, and will suit DIYers, and those wishing to develop their knowledge and skills.
The course will teach you:
• Diesel Engine, theory and operation
• The Fuel System, operation, service and maintenance
• The Air System, requirements and maintenance
• The Cooling System,
types, operation and service
• The lubrication System, service and maintenance
• Basic electrical system
• Drive-lines and stern gear, service and maintenance
COURSE INFORMATION:
We have four engines, ensuring all attendees get hands on experience with both courses covering a range of theory and practical participation. Our fully trained tutors will work with you in both the classroom and the workshop and will be willing to answer any specific questions you may have.
There are no formal entry requirements to gain access to this course and an RCR certificate will be issued on completion of either courses attended. An RYA certificate is available for an additional cost of £15

BOAT ELECTRICAL COURSE (coming Soon)
This two day course provides exposure in-depth look at engine electrics.
This is a follow on course from the Diesel Engine & Boat Maintenance course. It covers engine room design, cable sizing, battery types and sizes, split charging.
The course will teach you:
• Basic electrical theory, volts, amps, watts and resistance.
• Calculation of voltage drop and wire sizes.
• Cable termination and labelling
• Battery Selection and installation
• Testing and fault finding.
• Split charging, multiple alternators
